Frequently Asked Questions
How do I open PastePaw?
Press ⌘⇧V on your keyboard. You can customize this hotkey in the app's Settings.
Is my clipboard data secure?
Yes! All your clipboard data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. Nothing is sent to any server or cloud service. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.
Can I exclude certain apps from being recorded?
Yes! Go to Settings → Ignored Applications and add any apps you want to exclude (like password managers or banking apps). PastePaw will not record clipboard content from these apps.
How do I delete my clipboard history?
You can delete individual items by selecting them and pressing ⌫, or clear all history from Settings → Clear All History.
Does PastePaw work on Apple Silicon Macs?
Yes! PastePaw is built as a Universal Binary and runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3/M4).
What is the Auto-Paste Helper and do I need it?
The Auto-Paste Helper is an optional companion app that automatically pastes your selected clip into the frontmost app — no need to press ⌘V yourself.
Because PastePaw is sandboxed on the Mac App Store, it cannot inject keystrokes directly. The Helper runs as a lightweight background process outside the sandbox to do this on its behalf.
It is free, code-signed, and notarized by Apple. Download it here.
